“Street art can make a city feel like an open-air gallery” Conde Nest Traveller
Not so long ago, painting on walls was considered criminal. Thankfully, we have put those days behind and our streets have come alive with bright colourful murals. In the main section of Chinatown alone, there are over 40 murals in the thoroughfares and side streets. Through their vibrant and lively brush strokes, established artists, students and the community in Chinatown, have shared with us the heritage of this historical district and the contributions made by the early immigrants. Come on the tour to hear about what the various animals, objects and shapes in the murals tell us about the beliefs and culture of the Chinese.
The tour will end at Chinatown Complex, where you can stay on for lunch (optional).
Please note that there will be lots of walking, please put on comfortable footwear and bring a bottle of water.
