Chinatown is always fascinating, and the area is even more bustling and vivid during Chinese New Year celebrations. Our guide Charlotte will explain the customs, taboos and traditions of this exciting and colourful holiday.
As we wander through the streets of Chinatown, learn about the history of the area. We will drop by a bakery that makes traditional Chinese cakes, meet sellers of incense and paper money, and visit a clan house and a Kuan Yin Temple. See beautiful pussy willows and kumquats. The tour will end at the Chinatown Complex where bargains abound. You then have the option to have a meal at the famous Smith Street Noodle Shop (at own expense) and enjoy the lights and atmosphere of Chinatown at this time of year.
